The Mystical "Golden Flower"

The post-fermentate dark tea is purposely processed and fermented in a humid environment to promote the growth of certain fungi, which have been called "jin hua" literally "golden flowers" because of its golden yellow color. "Golden Flower" is the nickname of eurotium cristatum (coronoid process of eurotium fungi).
Generally speaking, the process of producing "Golden Flower " is----the water and heat during fermentation promote the growth of preponderant fungus---eurotium cristatum. Which will further join together with the polyphenols mixture of phenolic compounds inside tea leaves, then the "golden flower" start growing. So, it is also the process of forming the special dark color, aroma and flavor of the dark tea.
The “Golden Flower” is in yellow granular thallus form and could only be found after dark tea bricks split.
The quantity of the golden flower granule is a very important factor in judging the quality of a dark tea brick. It affects the composition and aroma of Fu brick tea and greatly improves the quality and flavor of dark tea.
It is considered one of the key elements that not only make dark tea have its symbolized aroma and taste but also have health benefits for people.

Reviews

  1. Review by Ben

This is a great tea. Very healthy and has a wonderful flavor that is great both hot or iced. I would recommend drinking it traditionally hot with gaiwan or clay teapot. After drinking this for about a year, at least twice daily, I have noticed a dramatic decrease in general inflammation. I had a blood panel performed a month or two ago, and my non-fasting glucose was well within normal, as was my blood pressure and LDL/HDL cholesterol. This despite having meals rich in carbohydrates and fatty proteins such as eggs on a nearly daily basis, although I wouldn't recommend this eating habit for everyone. The point is that drinking this tea while having my meal or shortly thereafter, seems to help decrease the urge to snack and helps to maintain a normal blood sugar for me. My dad has Insulin-dependent diabetes, enjoys this tea as well and has ordered his first brick. I look forward to seeing the positive results for his as well. (Posted on 9/12/2016)
