The "Huang Zhi Xiang" tea bush gets its name from it's natraul cape-jasmine flower frangrance. Local tea farmer called it "Huang Zhi" which is literally "Yellow Twig".
HuangZhiXiang is a very popular Dan Cong oolong for it's high fragrance.
Personally, I would like to describe the fragrance of this Huang Zhi Xiang Dan Cong as a mix of ripe yellow peach and gardenia floral. Very fascinating.
The loose leaves were in dark , shiny brow color with typical yellow vein. Once brewed, the leaves were rubbery, soft in light, yellowish green color.
The tea liquor was bright and clear in light orange color.
The first sip was very light, smooth. The strong fruit flavor spreaded in the mouth and throat alomost in no time.
This tea performed nicely with a traditional Chao Zhou Kongfu tea steeping methord. It provided over 16 progressive infusions. The lovely, typical fruit flavor stayed there all along the steeping.

Score It seems like this dan cong is more fermented and tend to have a richer flavor. I like the fact that this tea has it's own charatorized subtlety. (Posted on 1/10/2015)
