It got a strong roast aftertaste. It tastes a bit of charcoal. It had some bitterness but not too much. Still not a big fan of deeply roasted oolong in general. (Posted on 1/25/2016)

You don't want to over brew this one, because it is a tough character.
I steeped it Gong Fu way and it takes only 10~20 secs for the first several infusions. The tea soup has a rich, strong roasted flavor, which is quite enjoyable. (Posted on 6/20/2013)

It is more heavily roasted than the other TGY but not too potently roasted. The roast flavor was strong for the first three or four steeps and then got milder. There is a fruity note behind the roast, kind of a smoked fruity note but definitely there. (Posted on 1/10/2013)

This is a wonderful roasted tie guan yin oolong. It has a slight roasty, bitter flavor with a hint of honey sweet at the end.

very special TGY Review by Sawyer

As ESGREEN clearly described in the title-this is a deeply fired version TGY. So, different from the light orchid aroma. This one is featured with roasty, nutty floral. It provided an amber color liquid which is smooth with a faint note of smoky and sweet aftertaste.
It was very durable with a Gong Fu tea style brewing. I got over 10 infusions easily.
I like this tea very much. I think it has a rich flavor combined with Yuyi Rock tea and Tie Guan Yin tea.
I do believe it will, have a better performance after being aged for a while. (Posted on 3/17/2012)

This one is really a cost effective choice. I don’t think the leaves were low quality leaves with extra roasting. Like the pleasant smoky aroma of it. (Posted on 1/1/1970)
