$115.00This pot is modelled on famous Shi Da Bin designed pot. Classic and beautiful.
Shi Dabin came from a scholarly lineage. He borrowed for his pots shapes from ritual objects of the Shang and Zhou Dynasties of the distant past. Those were the ideal Grand Era that Confucius much referred to and used as a bench mark to criticize contemporary policies. Two millenniums later in Ming dynasty, when his teachings were framed to defend the tyranny of the ruling class, his ideal of sage kings slighted. It is unclear if there is any message in Shi's clay works, but it was a strategic success. People from any camp liked them.
