Details
This Tie Guan Yin tea is deeply fired with special long-lasting charcoal fired aroma, which is obviously different from orchid aroma light fired Tie Guan Yin. The tea leaf is in green and brown color. Once brewed the whole leaf unfolded. The tea leaf is complete, thick in greenish brown color with tiny red edge.
This tea roughly hand picked so there are small amounts of leaf-stems mixed in.
In the producing area of this Tie Guan Yin(Iron Goddess of Mercy) tea, tea farmers all like to drink tea. It is highly cost-effective. The aroma is strong and the aftertaste is sweet and long-lasting. Meanwhile it can endure repeated infusions for over 20 times.
For the first 3~5 infusions, quickly steep for 2~3 seconds and pour out the tea liquor immediately. The tea liquor is thick enough and full of the special charcoal fired aroma with a little bit sour mouth feel, very sweet after taste.
Another Special feature of this TGY tea is that it could be aged to gain better flavour and steeping performance. Place the dry tea leaves into a pottery or porcelain caddy, aged the tea in a dry, clean place. It could be stored and aged for several years.
The charcoal fired aroma gradually change into honey sweet aroma with age.
The following video instructs how to steep this tea in Gongfu tea style with a small capacity Yixing clay Zisha tea pot.

Review by Esther Meyer
Score It got a strong roast aftertaste. It tastes a bit of charcoal. It had some bitterness but not too much. Still not a big fan of deeply roasted oolong in general. (Posted on 1/25/2016)

strong,nicely Review by Keith
Score You don't want to over brew this one, because it is a tough character.
I steeped it Gong Fu way and it takes only 10~20 secs for the first several infusions. The tea soup has a rich, strong roasted flavor, which is quite enjoyable. (Posted on 6/20/2013) -

Score It is more heavily roasted than the other TGY but not too potently roasted. The roast flavor was strong for the first three or four steeps and then got milder. There is a fruity note behind the roast, kind of a smoked fruity note but definitely there. (Posted on 1/10/2013)

Score This is a wonderful roasted tie guan yin oolong. It has a slight roasty, bitter flavor with a hint of honey sweet at the end.

very special TGY Review by Sawyer
Score As ESGREEN clearly described in the title-this is a deeply fired version TGY. So, different from the light orchid aroma. This one is featured with roasty, nutty floral. It provided an amber color liquid which is smooth with a faint note of smoky and sweet aftertaste.
It was very durable with a Gong Fu tea style brewing. I got over 10 infusions easily.
I like this tea very much. I think it has a rich flavor combined with Yuyi Rock tea and Tie Guan Yin tea.
I do believe it will, have a better performance after being aged for a while. (Posted on 3/17/2012) -

Score This one is really a cost effective choice. I don’t think the leaves were low quality leaves with extra roasting. Like the pleasant smoky aroma of it. (Posted on 1/1/1970)
